Default U-Joint Needles Freezing Up?

Has anyone heard of the needles in a U-Joint (Axle) freezing up to where it would cause a rhythmic vibrations or symptoms of out of balance wheels?

Can't say that I have and I live where it snows (Phila, PA area.

I could see if you had snow or ice that accumulated on your rims but not the u-joints.

What kind of vehicle is it ?

Sorry-98 Vet A4, 20,000 miles, and I would ;assume the freezing up would be due to heat or damage-not cold.

C5 Vettes do not have u-joints, they have CSV - constant velocity.

You could have bad ball joints or maybe wheel bearings. Did you have wheels balanced lately (forced balanced).

If not this may be your problem.

I would take the vette to a good alignment shop and have them inspect the suspension and alignment settings. It's obvious the first place you took it to did know much about C5's.

The rear axles are constant velocity joints. Several large ball bearings retained in a cage, captured in a housing. No needles here and no "yoke" like a 90 degree u-joint.

That is part of the problem, they were forced balanced and were worse coming out than going in...
Excuses-1. No susposed to run non-runflats if car was designed for run flats, 2. Might have frozen needle bearings?????

Sounds like you need to find another shop and ask the previous shop for a refund.
