Default High flo cats

What kind of high flow cats are you guys using? I want to get some for my nearly stock a4 c5 with B&B Bullet cat back(no headers yet). but all I find out there on the internet are random techs for $500!!!! Way more than what I want to pay for high flows. My only intention is strictly for louder sound level. Is this even the way to go for loud sound? Any opinions are of course welcome and encouraged.

the magnaflow metal substrate spun cats are good instead of the $$$$ randoms--they sell for about $110 ea. Also on e-bay there are some metal cats same style as the spun Magnaflows--i'm sure not quite as good but not bad for about $60 each--the cheaper hi-flows are all ceramic based and don't hold up as well in a hi-flow design--those are also around $35 ea. in a spun design---I used the $60 ones called Thunderbolt from Performance Curve.

And you are just in luck. The thunderbolts are on sale for $36.99 each I bought 2 for $80 shipped. Now myonly problem is paying shipping again. I had to send them to a buddy out of state and he is sending them to me in CA

I also bought two from performance curve for my previous car and then hollowed them out. For the money I thought they were just fine. I'm sure that the more expensive models will flow better.

Get headers if you want to go louder. You want to make sue if you do want headers in the future that the cats will work with them. A lot of the complete header packages come with high flow cats and X pipe.
