The main benefit of the PLII *is* the change to the tranny. There aren't big hp gains, although there are gains in low-end torque as a result of the torque management changes.
As for WOT, there should definitely be a change in WOT response as the shift point is set to 6000 RPM from 5500..
This should all be fairly evident from the loads of PLII threads that there have been. A change to the PCM control of the tranny *is* a big deal on an A4. The A4 is not aggressive enough in it's default form and you need a performance program to unlock it.
A similar mod would be gears and TC. You will obviously not see any HP gain (you may see some power loss actually, with this change), but you *will* see a 1 second + reduction in ET when you do gears and TC on an A4.
I guess my point is don't be too quick to discount the value of tranny mods on an A4; the tranny is a big bottleneck in it's stock form.
my c5 will burn the tires from a dead stop and do more than chirp when it shifts to 2nd.some of the other mods i have installed have alot to do with this also.if it happens to be in 2nd or 3rd at a low speed and you punch it and shifts to 1st you better be ready to get sideways,scared the hell out of me.does anyone know if the powerloader 2 should turn the cooling fans on sooner to keep temps down.i havent noticed any difference since i loaded it. :cheers: :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:
After only a 6 week wait, received PL 2 yesterday. Returned Hypertech III to stock first (had no problems doing this as some members have reported), then loaded PL 2. After 2 minutes--I was "loaded". Car appears to be running fine, however, have not nailed it yet to really see what happens. Low speed shifts do seem to be sharper. Went to PL 2 because I have 3.42 rear end & was not satisfied with the way Hyper III was shifting A4. Hopefully, PL 2 will do the job. My 2 cents...
