Keep the filter above the schrowd and you won't have a problem. Low speed through 2 to 3 inchs seems like the majic combo. Cost me 11.5 K, broken rods, two in fact, plus two big holes in block.

Dave, the outer filter cover can be bought direct from Halltech. Give Jim and company a call. If I remember correctly, the cost is $35. and they come in blue or red...whatever rings your bell. Slipping it over your filter is real easy as it has an elasticized opening which keeps it in place. Also, don't notice any difference in performance with it on. Plan to remove when I am at the track. The pre-filter is made by outerwears, they have been making them for years, big in the Jet ski and ATV marketplace. I arranged for Breathless to test one on the Vortex..they recieved a test unit, but complained about the fit of that cover (which was too big). They didn't seem very interested, and they have never gotten back with me.
