I'm dealing with the same thing... I've not removed the sway bar and greased yet but i'm thinking it's the end links.. I ordered them from my dealer a couple of days ago.. should be here sometime today. I'm moving right now but just about done... I also have freezing temps outside so being on my back is not a top priority right now... but as soon as i get some heat in my garage i'lll report back my findings if the endlink replacement fixes said problem.

You might also check all around the steering shaft to make sure that nothing is physically contacting the shaft. When I did my cam swap a few weeks ago, I put the power steering cooler lines back on in a way that caused one of them to rub the "knuckle" where the shaft goes into the gearbox. It created a problem similar to what you are describing.
