Hi gang, after a dead battery experience, I now have a CTEK charger. What's the best place for the negative ground for the charger?
I did notice some small bolts, maybe for a eyelet on the battery terminals when I had to jump start the car. Are these usable if I want to permanently mount the leads?
It depends on the battery type...
If you have an oem style lead acid battery, then it's usually recommended to ground away from the battery to reduce the potential for explosion of the out gassing.
If you have an OPTIMA style battery, then you can ground directly to the negative battery post since there is no out gassing.
I have an OPTIMA battery ('04 Z16) and permanently mounted the eyelets from my BATTERY TENDER PLUS to the studs that secure the oem cable ends, then secured them with 10mm nuts.

Thanks, it's the standard battery. What I was asking is exactly where is a good grounding spot? Somewhere on the block? Or is there a ground terminal somewhere that's easy to get to .
