Default hvac lights not working at all

I bought a car on here a few weeks ago and the hvac lights do not work. The lcd screen works but all the other lights work. Is the power source bad or is there a fuse out?

You had a typo there, did you mean your screen works but no other lights work? Not even the orange LEDs? The screen going out is somewhat common but not all the button and dial lights.

I have mine tore apart right now to change the light colors so please clarify and I'll try and help.

DOh, i mean all the other lights DONT work. If i turn on the defrost the yellow light works, but all of the backlights do not work.

hmmm All those lights do share a common circuit. Let me do some digging around to see if I can find out what pin the light circuit is on the plug at the back of the unit. As far as I know there is no fuse solely for the lighting of the HVAC unit. You'll have to take the unit out to check the wiring and probably take it apart…

OR you can buy a used one.

OR get that one refurbished.

I'm assuming that you DO have the automatic climate control right?

FYI - You don’t have any of your car info in your public profile BTW, it’s a damn good idea to at least fill that in when you’re asking for help in here and also to list it when you’re describing the problem…

oh, ok, i will fill it out, i just bought the car and am obv new to the forum.

Yes i do have auto climate control and it is a 2000 frc.

Thanks for your help, i think i will take the sucker apart when i do the led mods on the rest of the car. Its just wierd because the yellow lights works (on the defrost) but none of the back lights work. Anyway, thanks for your help, i will see what i find when i take it apart.

Hey sorry if I came across like that, I meant it as friendly advice.

If you're planning on doing the LED mod check out the thread I'm knee deep in.... my pics are on page 6 on.... post 117 has a pic of my HVAC board lit up.
