HVAC Blower motor

1999 manual ac. Blower does not run on (5) high speed, runs fine on 1,2,3,and 4. Is this the resistor or the fan speed selector switch?

Mine was the resistor Doug. Although mine was opposite, 1 and 2 did not run and high was fine. That resistor is a PITA to get at.

Here is a shot looking up at the underside of the glovebox area against the firewall. The hole is where the resistor goes.

No experience with C5, but on most cars the resistor pack is bypassed for high speed. You could try pullng the blower motor and running it straight from the battery and see if you get more speed.

High speed is supposed to get the full 12V. I would do a fuse check first.

Thanks for the information. I changed the the fan and the resistor and everythig is working great except my back. Bob great start for this years Corvette challange and the start of the Mustang challange.
