Default 2nd differential leak

2nd Differential leak on my 04. Lucky I spied the small oil spot. Two days left on warranty. 1st leak at 10K on cover seal. Same thing again at 17k. I expect it will happen again. Off to the dealer tomorrow.

Just accept it as a common thing and don't get upset (it does not appear that you are). Let the tech know you don't blame him for a poor repair the last time. It sounds to me like you already have a positive attitude towards this.

I'll say good luck to you that it does not leak again.

There's two different things that leak back there. 1) is the left side of the diff. 2) is the Tranny seal. There's a tsb for both and the tranny seal one starts showing up when the car is left in extreme cold conditions. when heated up, it doesn't leak. May want to check that out.

Its the left side cover at O ring. It already had a revised cover and O ring the first time. I have an appointment for Thursday at dealer. Glad I sprung for the gmpp when I bought the car. This will happen again.

I had it repaired on my 03Z but if the car wasn't under warranty I would not have bothered. Not really a big problem in the grand scheme of things.

Good luck with the repair. I've had mine repaired three times for the leak - but last time was about 3.5 years ago so looks like they got it right this time.

I have an 03 and have had it repaired in 04 & 05 & 06. Expect to take it in this summer. Have resigned myself to live with it and not let it bother me anymore.
