I have a 2000 Corvette convert 25,000 miles. One of the pressure sensors at left rear reads zero saying I have a flat tire but it really is not. When I drive for about 5-10 minutes tire and sensor warms up reads ok.
I was thinking of replacing the sensor if I do should or do I need to replace all sesors it works fine when tire or weather is warm above 35 degrees.
Any suggestions.
I also have a 2000 with about 24,000 miles and one of mine did the same sort of thing last year. I went to Goodyear (to use their air) and left about all of the air out, inflated it to 42 lbs, drove it several miles, went home and let air out back down to 28 and it hasn't acted up since. I run 28 cold in the summer as they get up to about 31 on the DIC in a short period of time. So far my pressure logic has kept them worn evenly across all 4 tires.........
About a year ago, my '99 had one sensor that started to read zero or else wouldn't read anything at all. After reading posts here on the forum, I figured it was the sensor, so I bought another one. Had a local tire place break the tire down, changed the sensor and it's been fine ever since. I thought that maybe the other three would go shortly after the first, but so far they've stuck in there. Of course, now that I've posted this, they'll all fail tomorrow....
Look around - you can find new sensors for somewhere around $70. Good luck!
you guys know that the tps battery is asleep untill the tire rolls for a little, right? probably is batteries failing in cold but i just wanted to make sure you know about the sleep mode. based on the membership dates i probably wasted your time. sorry
