Thanks for the wisdom Danny. Chatting definitely helped me narrow down the potential issues. Now I've just gotta get my hands dirty.

I'll keep everyone updated so we can avoid any future clutch issues.

BTW: slowhawk, can you spell out the shim issue you spoke of and the question regarding the diff between the holding ability you and SPEC are claiming? (i'm not into drag racing) Thanks

I am making about the same power as you BQuicksilver, I made 416 and I was not even looking at the spec stage 2. I figured I would go beefier with a clutch than I had to just to be safe. I have the Spec stage 3+ and love it. 0 chatter during the 500 mile break in and now at about 900miles still smooth as silk. You have to factor in that they are not talking whp they are talking about actual engine hp in terms of what a clutch can hold. Now with that being said you still are probably under 500tq but now your getting toward the upper limits of the crutch's capability.

Pat, made it for the final tune yet? Glad to hear your spec 3+ is still smooth as you want. I drove my C5 to work today and the Textrailia was perfect in this cold weather. We'll see how it behaves once it warms up outside.....traction is minimal right now

Show me where "they" are talking about whp or flywheel horsepower the 2+ can hold (i had a 2+, not a 2). I only see where SPEC rates the clutch by torque, and the 2+ is rated at 620ft-lb (not 500) per their website. I can believe that the clutch may not hold quite what SPEC claims, but I'm about 200ft-lb in the clear and have some doubts as to if having the wrong clutch was my issue. I need better data to be convinced.

I hate to be disagreeable with someone trying to help, but I can't see where you're coming up with your numbers.
