Default Exaust Tones!

I have stock mufflers right now on my 99' c5. Im debating on if I should change them and get something a little different. I dont want mufflers that will make the exaust real poppy or real aggresive (like so many of the Trans Ams I hear.) I want something that has a sharp performance sound. Something real smooth, the noise a Ferrari makes, and no I dont want a Ferrari (actually I do but thats another story,) but I want that sound.

A Corsa exhaust sounds like it might be right for you. Most Borla / GHL / B&B exhausts will pop and give you a "motor boat" like sound.

If you want to buy the right system for you the first time, the only way is to go find some other Corvettes with different systems on them and listen to them. I'll bet most would take you for a spin too.

I bought B&B bullets...deep and loud, but not poppy from what I've heard.

It is hard to tell from a clip exactly how an exhaust system sounds or how much drone there may be inside the car at different rpms. I would try to find local cars with the exhaust you are interested in and give them a listen in person, both from inside and outside the car.

Most of the systems out there give the vette a deep muscle car tone.

If smooth and ferrari-like is what you're looking for, then Corsa is what you're looking for.

I wanted the same sound I beleive you are looking for. Corsa Touring does just that. A new set will run you ~$1400 - $1500 (with the X-pipe). Mine were installed yesterday and sound great. It's that slightly higher pitched exotic sound.

While I agree that it sounds like Corsa's might be best for you, I can't tell you how many people asked me "Inboard or outboard?" when I had my Corsa's on.. At an idle, you'd swear I was parked in water , but WOT, they sounded amazing.

Default exhaust sounds

If you do not want aggressive stay away from B&Bs. I have them on my 03 Z06. Find someone with Borla, Corsa or Megaflow. You can have TUBI the Ferrari muffler manufac. made them for your car but could bt costly.

From what you describe you are looking for, I think the Corsa Pace Car exhaust will be a good fit for you.
Most of the other exhaust out there are more deep muscle car sounding, and some do pop quite a bit. This is from first hand experience.

I have B&B short tube headers and B&B bullets. It's a little loud if I press down very much. Not the system if you are looking for something mellow.
My wife has explained to me that we might need something a little quieter , but I may end up deciding to keep them. Need some time to get used to them.
