Default Electric Seat

I just bought I 1998 and my Electric Seats wouldn't work. I found my fuse for the seats was blown so I replaced it and I was able to get the seats to move a little but not all fuctions seemed to work. The drivers side seat did move back and fourth a little before I replaced the fuse. I was avle to move the seat back, but no can't get it to move forward.

Any ideas? I have searched forms and havn't found much info.

I'd pull the seat and see if anything is stuck in the tracks. It's possible something got wedged in there and caused the motor to blow the fuse in the first place and is still causing a problem.

Removing the seats is very straight forward, just make sure to unplug all the connections! Here's a good link for seat removal;

Make sure you put a towel over the door sill when removing the seat. The seat legs are sharp and it is easy to scratch the sill.

I pulled out both Seats today and found that both contols head some damage.

The driver side was cracked and had some damage to the circuits. After playing with it I did manage to get it to move back and fourth.

The passager side had some spill marks of coke or something on the circuit board too.

I am going to order 2 new seat controls and see if it does the trick. Other then the dealer where would be the best place to order the parts?

Well today I replaced my switches and it fixed the movement on the Driverside, but Lumber just makes a click and don't seem to work.

The Passager Seat doesn't move back and fort and 1 od the motors works the up and down part. I am thinking my motor might be burned out. Any thoughts?

What I did is I pulled the seat out and applied 12vdc from my battery charger to each motor to test them. It can be a bind, flexible drive rod, a switch , or a control module in the seat.

My lumbar on the passenger side wasn't working, dealer wanted $600 to fix it. It was an easy fix, this may be your problem

1. Removed the seat, very easy, be sure to cover the sill to prevent scratches.

2. Under the seat is a blue vinyl bag that is stapled shut, this contains the pump motor for the lumbar and sides.

3. Unstaple the bag and pull out the motor, mine had a connector that was disconnected. I plugged it in and everything worked. 20 minutes and saved $600
