Default Need Clutch Recommendations RIGHT NOW!

Hi everyone,

I have a 2002 C5 Convertible with 97,000 miles on it, and it's in the shop getting its last "warranty" service done to correct some problems.

The dealer is going to replace my transmission and recommended doing the clutch now to save money on labor later. Given that I will be doing a heads/cam package later this year (hey, it'll be out of warranty!), with the intent of having a "quicker" daily driver, what clutch would you folks recommend?

Also, if any vendors have a deal on a clutch right now, please PM me! I'm ready to order RIGHT NOW and need the clutch FedEx'd to my dealer for installation.

Thanks in advance for any and all help, folks...

If your gonna put sticky tires on then I would recommend the Textralia. If not then go with the LS7. I think Gene Culley has the complete LS7 package for under $400.

I've used Cartek, LS6, LS7, Spec and Textralia

lately it seems people or taking the LS7 or Tex route, $400, $980

w/ 98k I'd swap in a new slave and master also

www.gmpartshouse.com , most likely 1 day shipping in MD for the LS7

Thanks for the heads-up, Steve. I called up GM Parts House and have a C6 Z06 clutch on the way. Apparently, it just drops right in, and it sounds like the trade-offs are pretty minimal and will leave me with ample room to increase power later.
