I have seen a lot of mails on how great this product is, but a lot of those signing it's praises have an automatic. I currently have teh Hypertech with my stick-shift. Is it still worth upgrading?
Re: Powerloader with manual transmission? (ElanMike)
I would say no. The PLII definitely shows it's advantages over other PCM performance programs in it's A4 code. I have heard many MN6 owners express disappointment.
Re: Powerloader with manual transmission? (ElanMike)
Ditto what ElanMike said. Some M6-er's have had good luck with it but many have reported that if there were gains it wasnt' justified by the price on their essentially stock cars. An MAFT will do you just the same and cheaper in setting your A/F ratio. Basically for M6-er's, we could lower fan turn on temps, increase rev-limiter and eliminate CAGS. Not really worth the $450 IMO.
Re: Powerloader with manual transmission? (ElanMike)
There are no HP gains...just improves the shifting of A4s.... any type of CPU programing is a waste on MN6s, unless you need to adjust for new 3.73 gears or such.

I don't know what power that is being loaded but it sure is not to the engine performance. :cry
I have it and it not only is power, engine was running way too lean, but too rich at WOT with a loss of timing.
Instead of paying $500 to have your stock PCM code lost, go with a MAF translator for less then half the cost and be able to do real power tuning.
Re: Powerloader with manual transmission? (team-zr1)
What John said,
I have the same symptoms, and with the MAF translator, am able to adjust the a:f at WOT and under non WOT. I too ran lean at lower RPM's and lean at WOT. I adjusted for 5% richer at non WOT
