Question about Diablo Predator and Torque Management
Does the Predator completely remove TM in the C5 when you install their performance tune, or does it just reduce its affects to increase performance? Looking at their site, I just see any reference to TM with an "On/Off" setting.
I guess what I am wondering is if I put this in my C5, am I going to beat the crap out of my driveline with just normal (okay, maybe a little spirited) driving?
I installed a Predator tune in my 99 when I changed the rear to a 3.42. The default was zero torque management and I couldn't believe the difference. I wish I had tried just the programing before I did the rear end to see how much of the change was programing. I wish I could tell you more, I think there is a setting to adjust TM but I am not sure with hooking the programer to the car to check. The car was so much more fun to drive I put a heavy duty transmission and harded output shaft in and left the TM where it was, for now any way. I may have time this weekend to check the Predator. It was a scarey thought with no TM and the stock trans, mine had 70k on it. I guess even with the HD trans there is still the chance of a failure but for me the peace of mind was worth it.

understand that Chevrolet has TM in there (pulling timing out of every shift sequence) for a reason.
If you eliminate TM on the A4... you will stress the tranny more than before. You got to pay to play
My Predator (which is an early version) has TM either completely on or completely off. The newer versions allow for some adjustment inbetween FULL-OFF and FULL-ON.
I know its there for a reason...and that is what give me hesitation about using the Predator. I'm sure GM engineers didn't say..."Wow, we have a beast here...lets make it slower just for fun!"
I haven't heard stories of people damaging their driveline yet though...just wonder if that is a matter of time?
