Default Help! Exhaust questions!

As I shut my rear trunk I heard a pop sound. when i started the car It sounded like a race car, with the exception of occassional backfiring. When I looked under the car. On the right hand side the ehaust pipe had broken just before the rear axel where there is some flange and connection. The pipe looked like it just seperated. I guess this is not an extended warranty issue so what's the fix? Can they just put a new flange on or will they have to replace the entire exhaust from that pipe back? How much should I expect to pay for stock replacement of one side? I was eventually thinking of Indy's but I wasn't ready to do them yet.

Take it to your local (reliable) muffler shop and have the flange re-welded when you install the A&A mod! :D :yesnod: :D

Shouldn't cost much more than $120 ...... including the A&A kit!!

I had the exact same thing happen to me a while back. I thought it had just came unbolted. Well the weld had failed on the midsection of the exhaust and it would of cost $1,000 to fix (according to the dealer) but it was under warranty (they actually covered something under the warranty  ) I'm glad I got it replaced though cause there were two more welds that were about to fail (according to the dealer) You could just get a X-pipe like a Corsa or Bassani they both eliminate that section and improve performance :yesnod:

HPdrifter- If you decide you want to upgrade the exhaust, I have a complete cat-back dynomax system with less than 500 miles on it. Will sell for $250 plus shipping. Tips are 4 round slant, 2 on each side. Let me know if you want some pics. Just a tad louder & deeper than stock, with NO resonance. SCOTT
