Default getting car on 4 jack stands

How do I go about getting my car on all 4 jack stands(2003 Z06)? I have never even put a jack under my car yet so I don't know where I should be jacking it from. I have read that I will need to drive up onto some 2x6's so I can get the jack under the front.

buy a set of rhino ramps. They are easier to use and if you are not familiar with jacking the vette you might find it hard without a low profile jack...

I jack one side of the car up at a time at the front shipping slot. Once the jack is up high enough to take the rear wheels about 5 inches off the ground I put jack stands under the front and rear cross members on that side. Then I go to the other side and jack it up the same way and put jack stands on that side. If I want the rear higher I then jack from the middle of the rear cross member and adjust the rear jack stands appropriately. If you have a long nosed low body jack that can get under the car to lift the front by the crossmember then you can forget jacking from the side.
