Default Taking off door panel on a C5

Can someone point me to instructions or a thread that shows how to take off the door panels on a C5? Is it easy or difficult to do? I need to get the door cleaned out - I won't go into details.

Do a search on door panel removal. you'll find instructions with pictures in several places. I used the one from Vette Essentials instructions on replacing door handle pulls.

Just did mine today to replace the DCM. Without a doubt the easiest door panel I have ever removed. No broken clips, no pulled wires. Take the two torx screws out and the panel is off in 5 minutes.

Okay, so speaking of the it looks like the door panel shell is one piece. Looking at this picture:

See where the gray and black meet above the reflector? Basically there was maybe a dime-sized drop of barf that landed right where the gray and black meet. However, is there anything to even take apart there? Or is that solid and nothing would have gotten through the crease? i.e. if the door shell is one piece, I just theoretically need to thoroughly clean what I see, correct? Or if the gray and black pieces are "separate," is it possible to just pry off the gray part in that picture to clean out the crease between the black and gray?

I will now return to weeping.

I think you will cause more problems by removing it. The only way I can see BARF getting through the seam is by high pressure vomit Gravity just takes barf downward not sideways like a tornado even though the barf smiley makes it look like a tornado

If somebody blew chunks hard enough to penetrate the seam you mention, there's probably a reality TV show that will pay to see the person do it again. Athe very least you need to put it on Utube if you can get them to do it again (not on the car - straight ahead and you shoot from the side).

BWWAHAHAHAH!!! Thanks for cheering me up, guys. Last night I was thinking the same thing, so I went over that part of the door with some non-abrasive scented household cleaner. I left the window rolled down so hopefully everything dried out, and hopefully when I go out to the car this morning there won't be any smell.

Of course, the follow-up to this is yesterday when I was cleaning, I sprayed warm water into that seam. Would that water have penetrated the seam and cause problems inside the door now?

...Or should I just hope there's no smell any more and forget this whole thing happened?

The bottom doesn't come off separately, but the reflector does pop out if you want to look in there. I don't see how anything could get it there the way it's made. By the way, did you get your forum name before or after this happened?

LOL, before.

Actually, I just got this name back. This was my first name, which I created when I got my first Z06 a few years ago and was living in an apt with no garage. It was black, and hence, it was Dirty *all* the time, even right after I washed it --> DirtyZ06. I ended up wrecking that car and couldn't remember the DirtyZ06 login info, so I created "HadAZ06" for the year I didn't have one and still cruised the board. But I've had my current Z06 for over two years now, so I recently asked the admin to merge me back to this name, which makes more since and reduces confusion since I actually do have a Z06.
