Hi folks. This may sound like an amateur question, but while I have done frame off's on C1's, C2's, and C3's, I don't know a whole lot technically about C5's. So don't laugh.... well you can laugh if you want.....
I bought a great 99 convertible on this site almost a year ago. In the winter the car sits a lot in the garage, so the 3-1/2 year old battery went 'clicky' on me yesterday when I went to start it. So tonight I want to put a new Diehard in but I don't know if there are any do's or don'ts or if there are any special resets to do. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance from up here in the COLD Mid- Atlantic.
A smart thing you've already done is elected not to install an Optima battery in that '99. I installed a Sears DieHard Gold after 3 Optimas failed me in 4.5 years. No problems whatsoever...
Just check your radio presets, memory postions for seats, radio, HVAC system, etc. Also check to see if your key fobs operate properly. If the car sits for extended periods, install a battery tender, or just disconnect the negative battery connection.

Thanks. One more question; I have decided to go with a Delco. My GM parts guy isn't sure of the part number and since the existing battery is an Interstate, that doesn't help. Does anyone know the current GM battery part number for a 99 / conv / air / 6speed?

Your GM parts guy must be an idiot... All he has to do is look the part number up on the computer.....Good luck..

If you are having that much trouble, why worry about putting a Delco in it? 98% of all batteries are made by just 3 companies.
Not very helpful responses were they? The only thing that I can suggest is to get one of those 9volt battery powered memory savers that plugs into the cig lighter to save your radio presets and clock preset.
