Anyone out there got any experience with Halltech's Tric SideWinder intake?
Halltech claims 16+RWH & 12Ft Lbs Torque
My car is a 2001 vert 1SC 6Spd completely stock.
All I can say is that after getting my Haltech (TRIC/MAG w/red kevelar) I called Jim to tell him that he makes the best looking and best performing product that I have bought. I have the bottom breather but the quality will be there. Haltech is as good looking as your car...part of why they are not cheap. However, any after market breather will add HP to your car. It's all just personal taste. Have fun, don't worry.
Tripleblack51,
I also have a triple black vert, 2000. I have both of the intake set ups, the side winder and the bottom breather. I used the side winder until I got brave enough to cut the shroud. The products look great and are very well made, though pricey. I would do it again in a minute. Ben
George,
Thanks for your feedback and the welcome. You're right about our cars, they are beautiful. I've been in love with vettes for over 30 years now.
I think Halltech makes great products and if I was going to get a bottom breather I would think they were the way to but for a top breather I think that a Donaldson and a new air bridge would be a better set up. The Donaldson just has more surface area which means more air. If you want a Halltech go with the bottom breather. If you want a top breather go with a Donaldson JMHO.
Halltech has a new filter for the Sidewinder made out of the same material as the Donaldson. Supposed to be a good bit bigger than their normal filter too.

I think the Halltechs come with a small Donaldson filter right now but I would be interested in a Halltech with a bigger filter I guess I need to check out Halltechs web page again.
