Default Borla or Corsa?

I have a 99 LS1 I am going to be putting new exhaust onto. I have had the Corsa exhaust on my 03 and liked it, but a good friend of mine said I might want to consider Borla. Can anyone give me there opinion?

Borlas are loud and the drone will annoy you in a hurry

Thats a matter of Opinion...

But in my opinion the Borlas are relatively loud, and the drone doesnt bother me at all. The best thing for you to do is go listen to someones car and ask for a ride inside of it. Good Luck!

I've had both on mine car - the Borla's have a much deeper tone than the corsa's. If you've got stock exhaust, the Borla's won't drone and won't be too loud. With headers, the Borla's will probably be too much. I'd go Borla unless you've got headers.

Put the Borla Stinger system on my stock 98 C5 6-speed last week. Love it, great sound, easy install and the drone is minimal with a stock set-up. The Michelin Pilot Sport run flat rear tires are as loud at 75 mph @ 1600 rpm. Wait till you hear the note when you run 1st gear up, back out and shift to 2nd, etc. 3rd, etc. Beautiful noise.

It is a subjective decision though, what I like you may not & visa versa. I'm happy with the Borla Stinger system.

I love my Borla's. They sound great now, and I can't wait to hear them after the cam and headers are done in about 3 weeks.

I think Corsas are perfect but you'll have to decide for yourself!

the Borla Stingers sound great to me, my buddy bought the Corsa's and the tips didn't line up without seeing the mufflers hanging down. he went to the Borla's, I went and heard them, rode in the car, ordered mine and installed them, the four tips line up perfectly, they sound awesome. NOW, before you buy, go listen to someone that is close by to you and you will be glad you did...bob.

I gota ask, how do you guys drive your C5?
If I just put it in drive I get 'drone' from about 15-18K RPM, though I love the sound. If I shift the Auto to keep it above at or near 2K then it just is awesome.

I have to admit, the drone may concern me. My Corsa's were quite until you put down the pedal. But I had long tube headers. I know that makes a difference too. I guess I'll have to go on a listening hunt. Thanks

I have the Borla Stinger exhaust on my '99. The sound from the outside is great but I did a road trip in the summer and my ears were ringing after a couple of hours. It's really a matter of personal preferance.

I'm running the Corsa behind LPE longtubes, and a x-h pipe, and it sounds sweet. It's nice and quiet inside cab, and ouside has a nice note, especially when coming down from higher rpm's. I get a ton of compliments on the sound and it's often referred to as sounding like a ferrari on compression.
I have always been a huge Borla fan, but on my vette I'm glad I have the Corsa (for my heads sake).
