Default Oil Consumption question.
'04 LT1 Motor, with 28,500 miles, 6200 since last oil change ( Mobil 1) now showing a quart low. Is this excessive consumption?

Do you mean LS1? The LT1 has been out of production for 11 years. If you are a quart low at 6200 miles that is not a high rate of oil consumption in anybody's book.

GM considers 1 qt 1,000 miles excessive

Yes, It is an LS1 ( Thats what I get for being in a hurry at lunch.)
