take off the alternator. remove the oil filter and oil pressure sending unit. remove the nut for the motor mount. place some duct tape on the brake booster so you dont scratch it when putting the header in. take a small jack and lift up the engine from the drivers side. Be VERY carefull to not crush the engine into the fire wall. Just lift it enough to slide the header down from the top. Also dissconnect the steering shaft.. Any questions, call me..

no, the driver side will do in from the bottom, just remove the steering shaft and it will go right in. Unclip the oil temp sensor and revove the 15mm bolt that holds the ground strap and your in. The passanger one will go in from the top. disconnect the battery and just remove the starter and it will go right in. I can do it with the starter in place but for the first time just remove it. Its only 2 bolts.. TPIS are one of the easier headers to install..

Kook are the hardest and most involved header out of all the C5 headers. Everyone I have heard from hates installing, but loves the results.

Just the way they are bent. They are difficult to install. From talking to Kooks though they said they did a bit of changes to make them easier to install.

I disagree.

I did my Kooks in my garage a couple of years ago and followed their instructions. The install was a piece of cake. Took about three hours start to finish. Just remove the parts they recommend. Both side go in from the top. It helps to have someone down below to help guide the collectors past any obstructions. Didn't remove the starter. Passenger side dropped right in. The drivers side took a little more effort but it still was no problem. It took longer to tear down the parts that had to come off than to drop the headers in and bolt them up.

If you need the instructions, pm me your fax and I'll send them to you. The guys at Kook's are great for tech support. Call them and they will send you the instructions as well and talk you through the process.

Good Luck

Do you have a scanner? I just got home from work so I dont have access to a fax machine... or if you could just tell me all the things it says to take off on the driver side that would be awesome!

Thanks!!!!!!!

If anyone else needs help with the install please send me a PM and you can call me I will walk you through it!!! Thanks again for everyones help with this matter!!!

Until they install AR's and make more power. Kooks are old school PIA.
