Default new era performance ported TB?

My C5 has at least another week on the rack and i'm thinking about trading my throttle body for a ported one by new era performance:

http://www.neweraperformanceparts.com/default.asp?S=503&A=E&PKV=c5porttb|0

is it woth $65 and does anyone have experience with new era performance?

I would say dont do it, it looks like they just polished it up, they didnt even touch the airtube to the PCV. If you want a good port polish job, go with a Shaner w/ the satin finish. He does a lot more than shine it up. http://www.s2performance.net/vettepage.html

Heres what he does: "All TB's are bored - hand ported - the air chamber is filled with epoxy and brass air tubes are added to retain proper idle and PCV operation - the bump stop is set - the blade screws are ground flush with the shaft - them hand sanded smooth and then they are polished to a high luster finish"

I got a "Shaner" two weeks ago. VERY nice TB. He really does a nice job! Throttle response was fantastic.

I did not have any throttle body work done at New Era Performance but they have worked on my 99 coupe several times and I am very pleased with the results. Their dyno tune yielded me an 11.54 E.T. in a cam-only situation (see sig). Their part and labor prices were more than fair. Hope this helps you out.....Jon Cona
