Right behind the battery you'll see where the main wiring harness goes through the firewall. You can run right along with it. It comes out in the upper passenger footwell.
OK, I have the battery out and I am trying to run a wire thru with the big bundle of wires. The problem is that in the passanger footwell I have the panel open but there is so much stuff there that the wire never comes thru. Any help on how to fish thru?
I used a straighten-out coat hanger. Be careful of any loop or hook you use so that it does not grab any existing wires.
I ran right along side the bundle of wires. I did remove the footwell panel (the one covering the bottom of the dash) . The coat hanger will come through somewhere in the bundle. I put a tight loop to hold my wire and taped it good so not to grab any other wires when I pulled it back through.
I just went to Pep Boys and bought a 1" firewall grommet. I used a 1" hole saw (Home Depot) and cut a hole in the firewall right next to the factory harness. Installed the Pep Boys grommet into that hole. Now I have a nicey trimmed 1" hole, weatherproof, for whatever I need to run through it...
I couldn't find a good spot on either side of the car...
Since I preffered a wire on driver side, I removed the dead pedal, pulled the carpet back as far as possible, & drilled a hole.
