HOTCHKIS vs. Z51...BIG DIFFERENCE?

The 2000 Z51 bars are thicker than previous years, so, if switching from a 97/98/99 you may feel more of a difference than with a post 2k upgrade.
I added the Z51 bars to my base susepnsion coupe and love the difference. At the time I did that, the Hotchkiss bars had issues with the end links. I think that is fixed now.

When I bought my car (base suspension), it had WAY too much body roll. I was stepping out of a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (All Wheel Drive/Twin Turbo/4 Wheel Steering) and the car had me spoiled with such a "planted and tight" suspension package. It handled like a dream! The Vette was somewhat disappointing as the car didnt "feel" very sturdy at all to me with so much "play" at high speeds and hittting corners hard. In fact, I never hit a cornet above 60 MPH cause the car felt like it was going to roll on over or loose traction: where as before in the 3000GT VR4 I could hit the "same" corners @ 90+ easliy.
Well, after the HOTCHKIS sway bars were installed, the car felt MUCH more sturdy with a very stiff and ridgid feel (like it should IMO). Although it very was stiff now, (I kept the base "softer" shocks) it appeared to me that I had the perfect street/track setup, as I could now corner hard and the car would beg for more without any play or body roll. Also (being that I had soft shocks) I could still absorb rough roads without beating the car to death from having too much rigidness in the suspension. Reasonable potholes are not a problem at all: even with soft sidewall Nitto's! :D
