Default Shale interior paint help

I have a problem I have been chasing for almost a year now. I have a 2004 Commemorative edition with the Shale interior option (Same as the 50th edition) I need a paint that matches the darker of the two colors for my interior. The lighter color is actually Shale and I have that.

I have tried to match the darker color with SEM Classic Coat rattle cans. I tried number 17183 which is Medium Neutral. I also tried 17343 which is BMW Neutral. They are close but no match and I have a big car show comming up next weekend.

I need a specific solution because just knowing the color name is not solving my problem. Does anyone know of some brand and color in a rattle can that will match?

If not does anyone have a specific color mixture spec I could give to my local paint supplier to make it?

Thanks

Is anyone else able to offer any helpful information on this? I saw a post in the past where someone had a supplier make up a matching color. I sure would like to know what the mix formula was.

I had the same issue a year back when I was trying to paint my A pillar. The color is;

Dupont Vinyl

Car: General Motors Corp
Code: 9648
Color: Medium Dark Neutral
Year: 92-07

I got it from a local automotive paint supply store. Matches almost perfect. You do have to use a spray gun to apply it though.

I have the actual mix formula if you end up needing it (its on my can of paint)

I am sure I will need the mix formula. If you could provide me with it I would be forever grateful. Thanks so much.

When I was doing my interior I got the GM code and brought it to a place that mixes VINYL DYE ( NOT paint ).Gave the guy the code and he mixed the stuff up right there. The stuff is EXPENSIVE - if I remember right about $30 for a pint ! BUt the color was great and it's been on there for 3 years with no noticeable fading.

The local paint shop might be able to put the paint into aerosol cans for you too. They did it for me when I was spraying some small parts, before I got a spray gun. Good Luck!

Here is what the paint can has on it;

** NON-*** Guide Mix size: special(6.25% of a gallon) 8.0 oz

806J HS Black 15.2
884J LS Red Oxide 13.7
801J HS White 12.7
881J HS Yello Oxide 5.5
305S Vinyl Resin 168.6

The color was pulled out of a paint catalog, you should be able to have the paint shop look it up.
