Default satellite radio installation

I've tried a search but no luck on satellite radio installation. The local circuit city did a horrible job installing a friend's radio. Wires are on the outside of the console, runs into the opening for the tape player and they used the cigarette lighter outlet to plug it in. Not aesthetically pleasing to look at. Is there a way to hardwire it? In the old days I'd run a wire to the fuse box and splice into the speakers wires. There is a enough spagetti behind the dash console to feed ***'s army. (a little history thrown in here too) Does anyone have a step by step installation procedure?

i use mine not wired in. i have an xm2go myfi and it transmits to radio. i use the belt clip and attach to vent. i can use the clip antenna and it works pretty good. i do not use the hard wired cradle but i bought an external charger if i need to charge te battery or use car power. i also bought a hardwired antenna that i will set up because i occasionally lose signal but that will be the only car connection. reception is pretty good without antenna but it onlu cost $20.i also needed a small adapter so the antenna end would attach directly to the xm2go without the car cradle. it actually will work without any connections. pretty cool. this way i also use the radio in my other car with the car cradle and in my boat without any attachments. very flexible radio. pm me and i can tell you where i got antenna and adapter.
