Default B2264 Vertical Position Sensor Fault

I have a problem with my passeger side window not closing high enough. I adjusted the position of the glass in the 2 window holding brackets in the door. If you slacken the 1/2" head bolt you can pull the window up higher in the bracket and then retighten. It's just clamped there with rubber lined brackets.

This puts the window higher in the door so it will no close up just!

The code B2264 is vertical postion sensor fault!

Does this mean the door module is at fault or the window regulator and motor?

I cleared all my codes from my DIC and this one refuses to go!

If it's not also throwing a B2262 then it's probably the mirror itself.

Measure the voltage between the left power mirror connector C2 terminal A and terminal C. If the voltage is within 4.5-5.5V, measure the voltage between the left power mirror connector C2 terminal B and ground. Is the voltage within 3.5-5.5V. If either are not within range, replace the mirror.

If they are within range, it's probably the door control module.

Hi thanks for your help on this. There was a B2262 H code also as I wrote all the codes down before I cleared them.

Only 2 remain B2264 & B2805C this second one is something to do with a key fob not being programmed! But I am not having any problems with them.

It's my Passenger side window that is not closing up enough I thought this would have something to do with this vertical postion sensor code.

You are saying it is something to do with the mirror but that is working fine?

Do I need to check voltage to the window motor?
If so how many volts should it have?
It seems to be going up and down fine it just stops to soon on the way up. it's about 1/2" short of where it should stop that's how much I have moved the window up in the to brackets that hold it. It shuts enough to stop any rain getting in but there is a slight wind noise. I am trying to do the tip in adjustment aslo.

Your imput is appriciated as I start to struggle a bit on electrics.
Thanks Andy

If the window is not going up all the way, it could be a couple of things. FIrst off, adjustment. Does the window work all the time and goes up and down with no problems (even with the door open)? Does it go down in the door furter then it should? There are adjustments (within a certain limit) to the window height). The issue though is why the codes and the codes are related to the mirror.

I'm thinking there is something with the door control module. They are easy to replace but are not cheap. Check the adjustment first of course.

Minor Adjustment from Service Manual
-------------------------------------
Open the door and remove the small front access plug and the rear access plug from the underside of the door.
Adjust the front and the rear window regulator jack screws equally.
Close the door and check the window alignment.
Open the door and install the access plugs.

Major Adjustment
-----------------
Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door .
Reconnect the window switch to the harness.
Raise the door window.
Remove the window clamp sight access plugs.
Loosen the window clamps.
Close the door.
With the aid of an assistant standing outside of the vehicle, position the window to the door opening.
From the inside of the vehicle tighten the window clamps.
Open the door and install the window clamp sight access plugs
Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door .
Perform minor height and minor tip-in adjustments as necessary.

The B2264 is definately a code for the Driver Side mirror. If the mirror is working fine, I'm thinking it's the drive side control module which also has controls for the passenger side door. Does the window go all the way up with the passenger side control vs. the driver side control?

I'd order up a used door control module from Gene's Karshop or someone else. If you have a friend with an early C5, perhaps you could swap it out just as a test.

Ok thanks. I just thought the code maybe connected to my window problem. But if it's not then I can ignore that code for now.

I will have a look at the mirror adjustment at some point.

My main concern is the window not full closing. It stops short with both the drivers side switch and the passenger side switch so I guess it's the window regulator and motor that's at fault!

I have done the major adjustment for the window and I am at about the maximum amount I dare pull the window up in the 2 brackets any more and it will fall out as it is barely in there by 1/4"

This is what I had to do to keep the rain out the window is almost fully closed in the targa roof rubber but not quite. It enough to get a seal.

Guess I need one of these then?

I fitted my replacement window regulator today, it worked a treat on took me 1 hour to fit and adjust. closes perfect nice and snug no water will be dripping in now when it rains.

My old one was quite corroded compared to the replacement one. The new one sounds a lot smoother to and stops better at the top if you know what I mean.

I got one from a breakers yard in the UK that has a couple of Vette breaking. This is rare is the UK!
