Default Larger tires on 1997?

What do i have to do to put 18inch tires in the front and 19 inch tires in the rear? Do i need spacers ? for front or rear or both? If so what size spacers? What width tires will work on the front and rear? I want to go with the c6 zo6 wheels. This is a stock 1997 vette. Will going with the larger tires effect tire sensors? Will this raise the ride height alittle? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Bob

Default Where to start...?

You need to buy 18" and 19" wheels. I don't think the actual C6 Z06 wheels will fit a C5, but you can buy reproductions styled like the OEMs that will have the correct width, offset, and backspacing for the C5, such that you won't need spacers.
Larger tires won't affect the TPS's function, and if you select appropriate tire sizes to go with your new wheels, you will maintain the same approximate diameter, and hence will not change your ride height. What (width and profile) size tires you select will in large part be determined by your wheel width.

Do check into ABS and Traction Control alterations with tire size changes. you can reprogram the PCM to fix the speedometer, but the EBTCM is expecting a specific range of ratios between front and rear, and if they are out, odd things can happen.

If he maintains the same approximate tire diameter, as I earlier stated, he doesn't need to concern himself period.

For the front, go with a 9.5" wide wheel with a 54-59 mm offset. The rear wheel should be a 11" wide wheel with a 62-65 mm offset. I have 18x9.5 OZ Superleggera III wheels with a 59 mm offset using 265/35/18 Michelin PS2's on the front. For the rear I have 19x11 wheels with a 65 mm offset and 305/30/19 Michelin PS2's. The rear tires don't stick out any further than the stock 295/35/18 tires. Your tire pressure sensors will not be affected. You will need to reprogram the pcm for these tires since they are not as tall as the C5 tires. They are the same height as a Z06.
