If they are not damaged rotors do not need to be turned. Turning rotors when changing pads is a fallacy. If you keep the same pad compound the rotors will already have a layer of transfer material built up on them. If you are changing pad materials the new pads will transfer a layer after a few miles of usage.

I have a couple of light grooves on the rotors (I think from hard spots in the old pads) and I was on the fence since I have new pads coming. I think I'll pass on turning the rotors, just replace the pads and see what happens. The new pads will wearing the rotors down a little right?
