I'm one of the guys with the funny gas gage. After 45 minutes it goes to empty. I tried techron, then more techron, seafoam, nothing works. Does anyone know which sender usually goes out?
Couldn't tell you which sender goes bad you'll have to have them checker or buy them and install them yoourself!
If you have the "SHOP" manuals it will give a detailed discription of how to check and diagnos the bad fuel sensor.
Each year of the shop manuals are for the year stated on them perhaps someone will have a set of manuals for your year and wilkl be able to give you the info on how to test!
Last you could have the dealer dianos it and which side it is and then you could do it yourself or have them do it. If you do this all it will be is the diagnostic charge and they give you the print out of the problem.
Before you buy the sender... check for a corroded ground.

If i remember correctly, he had a post with photos of exactly where to find the ground and what a bad one looked like
Check for stored DTC codes .... if they are P0461, P0462, or P0463 then it is PROBABLY the left tank sender.
If the code(s) are P1431, P1432, or P1433 then it is PROBABLY the right sender.
HOWEVER, the fuel system is complex, so post the codes before going any further.
Unfortunately, most of the diagnostics require a scan tool, and usually the sender has to be removed from the tank to test it, so if its bad, just have them replace it on the spot, as 95 percent of the labor is in getting the sender in and out of the tanks.

I recently had the return of this problem after the car sat up for a week on less than half a tank of fuel. I was told that this will dry out the sending unit on the passenger tank causing this problem.
I said that to say this. I went to below half a tank and added a bottle of techron ( one that treats up to 16 gals) and let the car sit for a few days, then I added another bottle of Techron and topped the tank off...so far this has cured the problem for me.
But all others have given you sound advice on fixing this problem also.
Good luck..
