Guys, the thread locker on the new caliper bolts may be "red" in color, however it doesn't mean it's the same product as the "red Loctite" that we commonly refer to. Use "red Loctite" out of the tube, the tube from your local auto parts house, and you'll have one hell of a time getting those bolts out in the future!
You know, I had the same thought, when I replaced my front brake pads and removed and painted all four calipers last fall. The red loctite from the auto parts stores, says it is to be used for applications where you do not plan to be removing the bolt again........so I went with the blue loctite on my caliper bolts and have had no problem thus far.
I replaced mine. It is best to do so and bolts, even at GM prices are cheap next to after market rotors and new pads. They come with the lock tite already applied.
