Hi all, I have a Canadian '98 conv, and since the car originated in Canada, it has the usual issues. The twilight sentinel causes the headlights to pop up when I don't really want them to, and the speedometer defaults to "kph" instead of "mph" whenever I start the car. I was told on this forum that a Tech II may be able to correct the headlight issue, but am open to any other suggestions with the speedometer default and the auto headlights.
With respect to the pop ups, try removing the fuse that controls the automatic function located in the passenger side fuse box.
I dont know the exact fuse # but it could be #22 .
Mine is an 03. Had to remove Relay #44.
Good Luck.
I looked into that last year, I would have lost my daytime running lights too. I want to keep those. Thanks anyway!!
Too bad.
I still have my daytime running lights and have manual control of the pop ups.
Maybe in 98 both systems were integrated.
However, You may want to post on the Regional Discussion Canadian Events section of the forum for more help.

Not sure if it is the same for you, but when I push the "options" button there is a "twilight" feature which I turned to off. This keeps the day time running lights on and requires you to manual turn on your headlights.
Ok, I pulled #44 and the lights still pop up, but then I pulled #22 and they didn't. My manual says #22 is "Body Control Module - Ignition 3"
Does anyone know what else this fuse may handle?? By the way, now the twilight sentinel turns on the Parking Lamps, which I can live with.
