Default Sweet Thunder for C5's

Not sure if any Corvette owners have heard of Sweet Thunder exhaust. I really like mine on my 2005 GTO. The below is a video of my car with 18 inch long 2.5 inch inlet/outlet mufflers. Completely stock other than different mufflers. I think the Corvette's would sound great with these. Just my 2 Cents.

NOPE! I made a sweet thunder system for my C5, and it sounded like ***. At idle, it sounded like a tugboat. I actually had someone say it was the worst sounding Corvette they had ever heard. At high RPM it sounded great, but the idle was so godawful sounding. Please, don't anyone make this mistake!

Thats gotta be the best explanation ive ever heard! It DOES sound like ***. I also made one for my 2000 FRC. Took the old stock exhaust and chopped it up. Ran straight pipes straight out with chrome tips. Just like a motorboat.

I have heard C5's with bullets (almost the same as the Sweet Thunders) and I love the sound. I guess you guys don't like the deep motorboat sound at idle. Everyone has their unique tastes.

Maybe the Vette's sound very different with the chambered turbo tubes, but the 5.7 & 6.0 liter GTO's sound very good. I get nothing but compliments on my setup.

Bullets and chambered mufflers have 2 totally different sounds. Bullets sound great, there are a few companies that make bullet setups for C5's and they sound really good. Chambered are louvered on the inside and with a smooth engine like an LS1, it just sounds terrible. They don't have that DEEP sound bullets have, they sound tinny and raspy, almost like a crappy diesel system. To each his own, go ahead and try it but you were warned!
