Default Heads and cam question !!

Hi guys, With the current heads and cam packages that are out there that make close to or just over 500rwhp and 450tq is it still nessacary to upgrade the clutch?? I just had a new LS6 clutch installed under warrenty and was thinking about a possible H/C package. I wanted the novi 2000 from ECS but i realized that it would be alot more in the long run after the install and the new clutch and alky kit and what not. I know ECS has a nice heads and cam package for 6k installed and tuned and I was thinking of going that route. Any info would be appreciated !!

My stock LS6 clutch was slipping/sticking at 460rwhp.

does one need an Alky kit for N/A heads cam? I thought that was needed with F/I only?

It is for F/I. I was saying that the F/I route was a bit out of my budget at the moment and just inquiring if I would also need a new clutch for a heads and cam set up properly.

thegame,
It depends on the power you make with the heads and cam. I know that that clutch won't hold for our heads and cam. We've passed the 500rwhp mark a while ago and have gone mid ten's in many of our customers cars. If you plan on doing any type of competitive driving I would look into a upgrade. We have the head and cam thing down . If you have any questions just give us a ring or just shoot me a PM. I can run you through some of the options.
