I installed dynomat on the very back panels behind the carpet and on the backside of the center storage compartment in my coupe. I'm trying to reduce interior resonance for the wife. Anyone else used this and where all did you install it with what results? It already has made a difference, but could be better.
The dynomat made the most noticable change in the back end of the vette, one layer of SMC is all that seperates you from the road.
If you were only going to do half the vette I would do the back end.
That is the ultimate installation! I'm going to do the back half....but am not up to an entire interior gut. Thanks, great pics...shows me what I need to know.
I dynamatted the entire interior of my '01, except for the doors. It took 5 boxes, 12 sq.ft. per box. It was expensive (around $250), but it did quiet down the interior a lot. I did the rear one weekend, and the front cabin the next weekend. The rear will cut out the exhaust and tire noise, the front quieted down the engine and driveline tunnel noise. It is worth it if you aren't worried about adding the extra weight.
I used the Dynamat Xtreme, which has a foil backing on it. This made it much easier to apply, gave some additional heat insulation with the foil, and should hold up longer. I would guess that it was about 1/8th of an inch thick.
