You send out your computer to the tuning company, tell them what you have dont the the engine, etc. They will use that and tune it the best they can. Basically you are getting a tune for idle, certain shift points if your an auto, air temp etc.
To actually get your car dialed in with the best results a dyno tune is what yu would want. Differnt people charge differntly for tuning of any sort, Price on sending the computer out to be tuned I dont know.

The Dyno would be your best bet. However, if you are interested in a mail-order tune, go to the Scan and Tune section of the Forum. There are a couple of people on there who do it.
