Front turn signal bulb replacement
It's sorta of easy and a pain all at the same time. You must raise your headlight either manually(there is a plastic turnstile the size of a quarter)
or power them up then turn the lights off without lowering them. Open the
hood too.
Grab a phillips head screwdriver and remove the black plastic shroud around
both sides of the headlamp. 3-4 screws. Now you're ready to go fishin'. Depending on how thin your arm is you can put your arm down under the lamp and into the front fascia area and you'll feel the light plug. Of course the
trick is that you can only get one arm down there, so you have to disconect the wire that leads to the bulb. Another thing the bulb sits in an upright position. For the life of me I can't remember if it's counter clock-wise or vice-versa. I know that much is in your owners manual.
After you disconect the wire/lamp connector, you then with one hand must pinch the bulb out. Try putting the new bulb in with one hand no less without
touching the bulb or wear gloves so no grease or oil get on the bulb. Pop it back in, then take the assembly and reinsert it back in the lamp area.
Strangely it took me longer to do my driver side than my passenger side. I don't know why. Or you can always kindly ask the dealer when in for the oil change to 'do me a favor'
Good Luck
Then pull back on the brake - cooling duct and twist to remove. That gets you to the bulb socket. No big deal. :seeya
Actually, my girlfriend changed the bulb for me
, since I couldn't fit my hand far enough into the brake vent opening. I could barely squeeze it in, just enough to get it stuck for a few minutes while I tried to pry the opening larger to get my hand back out. [Modified by Miles in Michigan, 5:02 AM 10/10/2001]
