On another note, (and I apologize to the original poster for going so far off-track with his thread(hopefully some information is gained to him with these discussions)) the main reason that I was wondering about over-running the stock regulator was that most places seem to offer a 225lph pump for these cars as opposed to the 255lph (no to mention 255HP) units. Not much of a difference, but was curious as to why they've gone with the smaller pumps if they're going to go with the WalMart pumps.

AS far as the PSI...you are right, there is no set psi, but anytime you have resistance in a line, it will build pressure. There is resistance in every fuel system, that i why i use PSI.

Pumps themselves flow around 100psi if not regulated, and have ample resistance give or take 20lbs. Once 100 (or whatever number) is achieved, the pump meets to much resistance to flow more, so it can make anymore pressure

The lines and rail are both restrictive. You can get enough volume to the regulator to over run it given the lines.

I have had the entire fuel system out of the car, and a new one built, i spent countless hours with the system, it is good enough to around 500RWHP then needs upgrades, that is with a new intank pump..(walbro)
Pumps don't flow any PSI. Pumps don't have resistance in the way you try to express it. They have flow vs. pressure capability. Most in-tank pumps have a safety pressure relief valve which opens between 60-80PSI. They CAN work against more pressure if required. Greg from BlowerWorks had a great post with flow data about a year ago but it appears as if the link has expired.

Walbro uses the same armature and gear set in all their 34x and 42x series pumps. All these pumps have the same nominal rating of 255L/Hr @ 43.5PSI @ 13.5VDC. Since the C5 operates at 58PSI this flow rating is downgraded to apx. 220L/Hr:

The 1997-2002 C5 uses a GRJ420 gerotor pump with integral jet-pump assembly for bucket fill functionality.
