I have an 01 C5 and I installed a HURST short throw shifter . I really like the way it shifts but it make a rattling noise coming from the drive train when under load. Is there a way to isolate and iliminate this vibration from the transmission and drive line?
Thanks for any help on how to isolate this vibration.
Same thing here. Most shifters for the C5 do it. If you do a search for this, you'll find MANY people with the same problem. Only solution I've heard of is buying a heavy **** or doing the "tennis ball mod"

all i did was wrap alot of teflon tape on the shifter **** threads..enough to make it hard to twist the **** back on.....now i have silence!
I cut the metal ring off the bottom of the shifter gasket and mounted it normally. I have a Hurst shift ball. Between the two, I have zero noise or vibration.
I think someone had a post not long ago that used one of these generic boots to reduce the noise. Unfortunately, since HURST and B&M have now merged, there respective websites and (new combined website) are not accessible...
