I lowered at 3,000 miles and now have over 17,000. I didn't align and there is NO sign of unusual tire wear. :D

No need for alignment if you did not cut any bushings. Factory lowering bolts are adjustable and will keep you with in factory specs.

contrary to what everyone else is saying, i definitely felt a difference in handling after i aligned. i waited for about a month after i lowered it to allow settling. but after i got the alignment, it was a different car. for $59.95, you cant go wrong. when you lower, you're adding negative camber.

I agree with Jetskifast. I did alignment before adjusting stock bolts with Z51. Only 5/8" drop in front and 1" drop in rear. Within specs, a bit more negative camber but that gives you better handing. Car floats less and rides a bit harder. Would not want to go lower. Wheel well gaps are balanced, just right. Recommend basic lowering for anyone with Z51, easy job.

RW 383,

Would you share the before and after settings?

Thanks,

$59.95 is what I paid for a 4 wheel alignment that I think it needed when I adjusted all the way to the limits of the stock adjusters. That's not even the cost of an oil change at a dealer, is it?

BTW: while we are waiting for a response on the before / after measurements, I'll give you mine.

stock height: LF: 27.25" RF: 27.25 LR: 28.50 RR: 28.35
initial lowering: LF: 26.50" RF: 26.50 LR: 27.75 RR: 27.66
after setteling: LF: 26.25" RF: 26.25 LR: 27.25 RR: 27.125
readjusted RR:LF: 26.25" RF: 26.25 LR: 27.25 RR: 27.30
