They are good quality, but a waste of time. Do long tubes or nothing, there is only minimal gain from shorties. I see plenty of LTs in the parts section here for around that money

No big gains with the shorts -the long collector style has been shown to be better than open pipes due to the scavenging. LG's are the best, no doubt. I have Kooks but should have done LG's. There are others out there of good quality.

Here I go again swimming aginst the tide....

Shorties are better than stock....not by much but they are better.

Long tubes WILL give you more gain (what..25 - 40 depending on whos telling the story) but their are gains to be had with shorties....and shorties are typically smog legal..ie they have a CARB sticker (important here in CA) unless you want to be switching out your exaust every couple of years...Im too lazy for that

Here's the catch....shorties new can be nearly as expensive as LT's..in that respect $$/Gain in HP shorties are not a good investment.

My advise...Buy them used...there are no moving parts..most are stainless

If your looking to optimize you car and still keep it legal..shorties ar the way to go..just dont expect a huge difference in performance

thanks to all for the input...even though i can get the shortys cheap i think i will pass and wait for a deal to come along on long ones. I was told the shorts would be a noticeable diff. from stock. Im not made of $ so i guess i will try to get the best bang for my scant couple bucks.
