At 240 your fans should already be on. If not you have fan problems. If they are on you may have a frozen thermostat, clogged radiator?

mine w/ the cam, will hit about 180 coolant temp, and around 200-220 oil temp, and that is right now. I would assume that during the summer it will go up a bit. I do have a 160 stat.

I would check the area up under and around the radiator. Your car is about four years old and if that area has not been cleaned it is probably full of debris. Resetting the fans should help and a cooler thermostat wouldn't hurt. You can check to see if the fans are working by turning on the AC and seeing if they are running.

Yup, more than one time a slow squirrel/pidgeon, etc could be blocking air flow. Check it.

I'd check the front of the radiator first also. My temps went up one time and it turned out a large plastic bag had gotten sucked up in there. It's a regular Hoover with debris.

If your fans are running, you aren't getting cooling air flow through the radiator. Clean the crap out of it, literally. A lower thermostat alone won't lower your upper temp, only your minimum. It will open at 160, but once it's open it does nothing to cool your coolant.

Also make sure you clean the front of the a/c condensor. The radiator is behind it, so make sure to also clean in between and the front of the radiator.

mine looked like the previous owner was doing some off-roading in a fresh cut hay field so i pulled the radiator and took a power washer to the radiator and the a/c condenser. but the car was not overheating.
