Default Catback recommendations

I've been doing my due diligence on catback systems, and am now looking for your feedback as to which catback is best for performance gains. I don't care what it sounds or looks like, just what kind of numbers it produces.

From what I've seen thus far, BB Bullets seem to take the cake. Agree? Disagree? Give me your thoughts/opinions.

Thanks in advance!

I bought two sets of Corsa pace car with pro tips for both of our C5's.
I like the looks, and there is no drone. During regular driving it is quiet, no problems hearing the stereo, or talking, but when you get on it, it's loud!! David

P.S. Look up the pole that was taken on the forum. Corsa came out on top

I wouldn't consider any of them for performance -they are all somewhat minimal -the corsa's as stated do produce volume when requested but are very liveable when on highway or dd

How much motor work do you have? If stock there are no differences between the catbacks, and an N/A motor needs some backpressure so you don't want too much flow. I went with the Z06 Ti; flows great, looks great, very light, and very cheap.

No mods yet, but putting full intake/exhaust system together all at once. So I will have Kooks LTs/ X-pipe, and Vararam intake. Will being doing ATI Procharger in relatively near future as well, and don't want to have to swap exhausts at that point. Otherwise, driveline and suspension mods are all it's getting.

Why is it as soon as you say you dont care what it looks or sounds like, that is the first thing someone comments on...

I remember doing the same thing, and yes the B&Bs tend to get an overall 2-3 pts of torq gain. HP affect is negligible between the usual suspects, including the Z06 ti system. If the resonance on the B&Bs doesnt bother you then sure. Me personally, I went for the Corsa's.

Good Luck!

Corsa, by far the best there is. As everybody has stated earlier, no drone, but loud when you get on it. It's now the only C5/C6 catback we sell.

Well unless you like very loud exhaust, with LTs(Cats or no?) Corsas and Borlas,etc... are loud to begin with, but too loud for most when coupled with LTs and no cats. Also, unless you are going higher than 600-700HP the Z catback is not a restriction.

Best as determined by what? Sound is subjective; personally I find the Corsa's to motor-boat puttery. GHL Bullets have no drone and a lower tone.

Depends what you like, the higher pitched exotic type sound or a lower vintage muscle-car sounds.

Any exhaust choice will be an improvement over the stock C5 exhaust. The Z06 exhaust is a good cheap alternative. I personally wanted something louder so I pulled my Z06 exhaust for B&B bullets. There is nothing like the sound of bullets. They do not have the raspy sound other exhausts have. They are very loud with headers and no cats though, and really bring a camshaft alive.

Sounds like I might just be sticking with the Ti... If I'm not going to see any real performance gain, there's no point in going aftermarket in my mind.

well, it is only for a while. I bought the car back and am slowly working on stripping it down right now. I plan on driving it again one day.

Don't think you'll see much difference in performance.

My Vette had B&B Bullets on it when I got it. They look great, and if you are in to loud, 60's era musclecar sound, they are awesome. I, however, thought they would be too loud with longtubes, so I sold them for $75 more than I paid for a used set of Z06 Ti's, which I loooooove. They are agressive at decent throttle loads, and quite for cruising... Once my heads/cam/headers are on, it might be a different story, though...

Hmm... That poses a question... I know, I said I don't really care what the car sounds like, but I'd love to hear a soundclip of Ti's with LTs and no cats, if anyone has one
