Starting problems help........
This one is really confusing me, 2001 Manual trans, in the past it has been giving me problems, turn the key all I get is a single click. If I put a charger on it and put 200 amps through it starts right up.
Thought it was a bad battery after it let me sit last night and it would not jump start, although I was able to kick start it.
Replaced battery this morning started several times today as I was driving around, then it let me sit as soon as I picked up my daughter from school, nice....
Same thing, had to kick start it, got it home, single click and when I put the charer on it starts right up.
Battery reads 12.6 volts
When I start it battery reads 14.2 volts
Please I have no ideas except replacing the starter, any ideas???

My money is on a bad solenoid or one that is going bad from heat. I would replace the entire starter and check the cable connections - red power, gray and black and purple leads - to make sure they are contacting well with no breaks or corrosion.
