oil pressure under accelleration is that normal? under normal driving 40-45 psi. Reason im asking is,ive never really paid much attention to it, and did an oil change today and it took 6 litres of mobil 1.thought that was a lot, was really hard to see where it was reading on the dip stick. hoping i have not over filled
You did not over fill it at 6 quarts if you also changed the filter. All fluid capacities are listed in your owner's manual. You should be OK, get ready for the 'Low Oil' alert on the DIC if you don't have enough oil in the crankcase. The car will let you know. Don't forget to reset your oil life also after you change (instructions in manual).
at upper rpm's i have seen my oil pressure up around the 60 pound mark, but at idle, it sits about 40. the faster the pump gears turn, the more pressure is generated. if it didn't increase, i personally would be worried. my 72 lt-1 goes past the 70 pound mark on the gage.
with a/c, had it since 1974. my wife and i went on our first date in that car.
you mentioned in your post that you used 6 litres of mobil 1, is that correct? i just looked in my booklet and the correct fill is 6.5 quarts or 6.1 liters, you should be fine.
