Just finished up painting it yesterday & thought I would put up some pics. I don't think I have seen anyone cut their airbox as much as I have but, I like it.

You should keep better track of forum posts. There was an awesome instructional post of a cold-air modification to the stock lid a member did recently.

Hmmm, I do keep close watch on here...did they cut just the front or open the sides like I did? If you are talking about cutting the radiator shroud then I have seen that one...more than I wanted to do right now...

Ok, so if I do the "flip tie mod" this week...Will I seriously be able to tell a difference as far as power goes? I am very interested in doing it...I am just wanting to know if the extra work is really worth it. I couldn't tell a "seat of the pants" difference with this box lid mod that I did however, I could definitely tell it was breathing better & seemed to be a touch smoother. Opinions?
It's just that you did a lot of work for very little gain. You need have only done the 'old zip-tie mod, to get all the benefits of your extensive cut and paint job. However, that's been superseeded by the flip-tie mod. No biggie, no harm done.
