RPM Limiter??????/ Brick Wall.....

RPM Limiter??????/ Brick Wall.....
Gents / ladies.........
I just finished my break in on my new ZO6.....
I took it out, and ran it through the gears, and when I hit 2, to 3rd gear......it was like I hit a wall......it almost shut down completely....
I would lay money that I DIDN'T over rev........BUT, that's the only thing I can imagine I could have done....
Went back a second time, and REALLY watched what I was doing, and it went of without a hitch.....(all this happened after dark).
Did/will this harm the engine????....or did the Rev limiter save my bacon?? :eek:

I am assuming TC was off??? As long as you didn't miss the gear and over rev then you should be fine. Guess the rev limiter did save your bacon! :D

THANKS..........NO IT WAS ON.............and I didn't miss the shift......just pushed past it I guess......been MANY years since I had a screamer........and a "BIT", rusty.....more like rotted!!!!!!!! :lol:

Sounds like you're having fun! I suspect that Traction Control came into the picture. Even in my Coupe with automatic trans, sometimes I'll get a slight bog after the 1-2 upshift and "TC" will illuminate. Thinking about what a ZO6 would do makes me drool. Please talk GM into making a coupe version.

YEP......I wish they were available in the coupe......
But..........the "Rush", is too much to pass up over a roof panel :cheers:
